About Garden Graffiti
A bit about Kat and how
it all began…
This story picks up after my love for travel led me to incredible floral experiences in London, Florence, and New York. For four years, I was a global floral nomad, immersing myself in the whimsical, romantic floristry of London and the bold, contemporary style of New York.
When I returned home to Brisbane, I brought these influences with me and started my own floral design studio: Garden Graffiti. The name itself is a tale of two cities—the ‘Garden’ reflects the old world romance of London, while the ‘Graffiti’ embodies New York’s vibrancy and modern edge.
Our team lives and breathes flowers.
From the 4 a.m. starts at the wholesale markets to transforming spaces into floral masterpieces, we genuinely love what we do.
It’s a “pinch-me” job, and we’re incredibly lucky to call it ours.
A Tribute to My Mum
Garden Graffiti wouldn’t be what it is today without the love, support, and inspiration of my mum, Vivienne (1958–2020). This business started in my parents’ laundry, but my passion for flowers began much earlier—watching her pick stems from the garden and bring them to life in her watercolour paintings.
She was a true creative: a painter, ceramicist, cook, and jewellery maker. Her love for beauty and design shaped me in more ways than I can count. But above all, it was her unwavering encouragement and belief in me that allowed me to wholeheartedly follow my dreams and passions.
Her favourite flower was the yellow oncidium orchid, also known as the ‘dancing lady.’ Every time I see one, I’m reminded of her and the vibrant legacy she left behind.
